This fat burning detox water is perfect to drink before you hit the beach, or to reduce bloating before you have to squeeze into a dress.
If you’re trying to build healthier eating habits drinking more water is the perfect place to start and adding fresh fruits and veggies will make it more interesting.
For anyone trying to lose weight or create healthier eating habits, focusing on beverages is one of the best places to start. This was my starting place when I was losing weight.
Soda and soft drinks are some of the worst beverages you can drink, especially diet soda. Soda and soft drinks have loads of sugar and some contain aspartame that is no good for your body. Sugary drink will also drive you to crave even more sugar.
Besides flavoured water just tastes so much better and is so refreshing! In this fat burning detox water recipe you’re going to be getting extra vitamins and minerals that are sooo good for you and will help to shrink that waistline.
Drinking a lot of water is not only beneficial for your health and fat burning. It is your body’s best beauty elixir for healthy glowing skin and strong healthy hair.
Drinking 8-10 glasses per day is important to feed every cell in your body. For all you caffeine junkies you’d be surprised at how much drinking more water can boost your energy.
I get it, drinking water can be boring which is why adding a few fruits and veggies to jazz things up will make you more likely to sip on it throughout the day. These added vitamins and minerals in your fat burning detox water will help to flush out all the toxins from your body.
Start by adding it to your morning routine to kick your day off right!
In this video, I gave the scoop on how to throw this fat burning detox water together effortlessly to help cleanse your body for weight loss and to banish bloating!
So let’s get started with our first fat burning detox water ingredient…
Lemon helps to support the liver in detoxification. It also helps with digestion and eliminating toxins which will boost your metabolism.
All citrus fruits like lemon, limes and grapefruits have powerful detoxing capabilities but lemons and grapefruits especially trump all others. They have a high water content which makes them the perfect ally for flushing toxins and unwanted substances from your body.
Grapefruits may also help your body reduce fat. They also fill your body with Vitamin C, a key detoxing vitamin while nourishing your body with other key vitamins and minerals like iron, calcium, and magnesium.
Ginger will help to fire up your metabolism and melt away belly fat. Ginger also helps to prevent overeating. One of the best ingredients that’s perfect for your fat burning detox water!
Oranges are high in vitamin C and helps to keep your immune system strong which will help to ward off sickness.
Cucumbers not only give you that spa in a glass feel but are also great to beat bloating and water retention. Cucumbers are about 95% water which makes it the perfect choice to help flush toxins out of your body while delivering powerful nutrients like B vitamins, vitamin K, vitamin C, potassium.
Mint gives you that refreshing taste and will also give the water a bit of sweetness without adding sugar while helping aid digestion.
Actually both cucumber and mint act as an anti-inflammatory to help you reduce bloat.
For me, mint is a must in any fat burning detox water recipe.
How to make your own flavored water recipe for detoxing, weight loss or everyday health…
Here are a few things to keep in mind when making your infused water:
Pick fruits that you like the most. It helps if the fruit is ripe so that it pack more of a flavour punch in your water.
Some good examples are: lemons, oranges, berries (raspberries, strawberries, blueberries), watermelon or pineapple
Herbs are optional but adding herbs will bring out the flavours of the other ingredients and will add even more vitamins and minerals.
Some good examples are: mint, basil or parsley
Jars, Pitchers or Water Bottle
If I’m making this water for a party (which is always a crowd pleaser by the way) I use a pitcher.
I love using jars because we eat/drink with our eyes and the fruits looks so beautiful floating around in the water. A water bottle is great for at your desk or while you’re on the go.
A wooden one is best but you just need something to mash or muddle the ingredients a bit to bring the flavour out.
Duh – yes but the quality of water is important so go for filtered water instead of tap. It will taste better as well.
Some of my favorite combinations include:
Strawberry/basil/lemon [Basil has anti-inflammatory properties + helps with indigestion]
Raspberry/lime [raspberries support your kidneys, liver and colon]
Orange/kiwi [kiwis help to rid your body of free radicals]
Cucumber/lemon [this is my go to]
Watermelon/rosemary [great for parties, + watermelon is one of the best fruits for flushing toxins]
Green tea/mint/lime [steep green tea and refrigerate]

- 24 fl oz or 3 cups of ice cold water
- Let the fruits and veggies sit in cold water in the fridge for a couple hours or overnight to get maximum benefits and flavour.
